{sigh}

Well, there have been a few bugs, [scratch, scratch] but we’ve moved into our own domain. Finally. Go to overheardinthesacristy.net. Yay!

Proof the Traditional Latin Mass is gaining

For the first time since I began offering the Traditional Latin Mass and the English Mass weekday mornings, both had the same number of people in attendance. Up until today the English Mass always had a significantly greater number of faithful. I expect the Gregorian Rite to someday “overtake” the Ordinary Form. I make this statement because I have witnessed crossover attendance.

Online Shopping Portal

St Charles Borromeo Parish is awaiting approval as a recipient of financial support on GivingCart.com, an online shopping portal with over 300 retailers.

GivingCart’s Mission as stated on their site:

GivingCart is a fundraising tool. Its mission is to support approved Catholic parishes or organizations, auxiliaries connected to the Catholic Church, and other organizations that serve the Church.

In response to a sharp decrease of tithing and the coincidental emergence of e-commerce technology, GivingCart helps the Church thrive and grow in the modern world. The potential for revenues generated by GivingCart is virtually unlimited, providing funds for church buildings and grounds, for youth groups, for Catholic elementary schools, for Catholic high schools and colleges, for religious orders, for pro-life leagues, for seminaries and foreign missions.

With a few extra clicks of a mouse, GivingCart can change ordinary internet shopping into timely acts of generosity—a response to Catholic financial needs close to home and all over the world.

I have submitted the required parish information to be considered as a recipient. I will post an update soon.

Rant Continued

I heard on the news this afternoon that minimum wage in the US is now $6.55 per hour.

Well, I just returned home after visiting the pharmacy at my local CVS, and true-to-form, “customer service” was lacking. It seems I interrupted the pharmacy assistants social hour. Then I made my way to Safeway. Unfortunately, I upset the cashier when I asked to have the watermelon placed in a bag, so I didn’t get the usual, “Do you need help to your car?”

Mark 4:20

“Et hii sunt qui super bonam seminati sunt qui audiunt verbum et suscipiunt et fructificant unum triginta et unum sexaginta et unum centum.”

Since the publication of Extraordinary Anniversary in the July 16 edition of the Phoenix diocesan newspaper, The Catholic Sun, attendance at the weekday offering of the Traditional Latin Mass at St. Charles Borromeo parish has more than doubled.
